Sup, Cry? Chapter 1

Chapter 1

The bell rung and you got to your feet, grabbing your backpack.
“So what do we have next?” you asked Ryan.
“Drama.” He said, tousling his hair with one brush of his hand.
You sighed, weaving yourself through the desks. Most of the class had departed as soon as the bell had rung… Guess it wasn’t their favorite class.
“So are you going to show me around today?”
“I suppose… I can’t see you wanting to pester anybody else so I guess I’m the victim.”
You frown.
“Pester? Am I bothering you? I can leave you alone if you’d like… I’m sure you’d rather sit alone and be a social outcast than show me around.” You spit.
“Oh you don’t know what your talking about. You’ve been here for about 45 minutes and your calling me a social outcast? I can end your social life here.”
You gulped… He sounded intense… Serious.
“If your not a Social Outcast, where are your friends?”
“Lets just say when you’re being a bother, you get special care at the front of the class.”
You think back to when you entered the class… The typical cliques of Jocks and Populars were at the front…
“So I’m supposed to believe your popular and that your not as obnoxious as the others?”
“Pretty much… These looks can get you anywhere.”
You laugh and nod jokingly.
“Yes I suppose I could show you around.” Ryan smiled.
You walked down the hall, weaving through the crowd but after a while it wasn’t needed as they seemed to clear a path for Ryan. You turned around to look at him and he smiled.
“So where is this Drama room?” you asked.
“Just follow me..” he said, turning the corner.
You follow him down the hall until he stops at a door plastered with posters of plays and events.
“Welcome to Drama.” He sighed, opening the door.
I walked in and everyone was sitting on the ground in a circle.
“Ah you must be _________! Welcome to Drama! Here in Drama we accept no negative energy so wipe that negativity off and sit your butt down!” She smiled, too cheery for your liking.
You looked at Ryan with a funny expression.
Was she serious? That lady was a wackjob!
You slowly made your way to the circle and sat down next to Ryan.
“Why is she so loony?” You whisper.
“Nobody knows… She’s just like that… Rumor has it she owns 17 cats.”
“Oh god” you laughed at his comment.
“So ________ my name is Ms Banks…. Right now in class were doing simple Drama exercises. “
“Sounds fun.” you joked.
“I know! Everybody enjoys it, right guys?” she said, not noticing your sarcasm.
Everybody stayed still, not nodding in agreement.
“Well everybody is just too tired to say yes but they enjoy it.” she smiled but you weren’t convinced.
“So I’ll just let you pick a partner and they can explain what were doing.”
“Sure…” you sighed.
Everybody ran off with their partners and you stood alone. Ryan had walked off with one of his buddies. Now there was only you and this girl standing there. She had a kind face and she looked nice… She smiled as she saw you.
“I’ll be your partner!” She said.
“Oh that’s wonderful! _______ this is Jamie! I’m sure you two will get along just fine!” Ms Banks beamed.
You looked at the girl gave a shy smile.
“Nice to meet you Jamie.” You whispered shyly.
“Hey Ms Banks, mind if we work in the hall?” Jamie asked.
“I don’t mind at all as long as you guys are working hard… I don’t appreciate slackers.”
“Don’t worry Ms B! You can trust me!”
“Okay well get started.” She sighed, and turned away.
“C’mon ________ lets go.”
“Okay.”
You followed Jamie outside of the class into the hall. You spotted a couple pairs, some familiar faces from your homeroom and some different faces… You saw Ryan not too far away from where you and Jamie settled.
“So what are we working on?”
“Pfft you actually think I participate? Drama sucks… Nobody does Drama!” Jamie laughed.
“Oh.” You whispered.
You looked over at Ryan, goofing off with his buddy.
“Ryan? Don’t worry your not missing anything… He just hangs out with the populars… He wouldn’t give you the time of day even if you begged.” Jamie sighed.
“Then how come we had a full on conversation this morning?”
“You… And Ryan Terry… Had a conversation? Holy mother of Eridan! The world must be coming to an end!” Jamie cried.
“Shhh!” you spat.
“Sorry but… He rarely associates with anybody outside of his social circle.”
“Oh…. Who is Eridan?”
“Oh this guy from a popular web comic I read… I’m in many fandoms.” She beamed.
“I see….”
You glanced back at Ryan, laughing away at a joke his friend said.
“So you just wanna talk?”
“Yeah sure why not.” Jamie smiled.
“So tell me what were we supposed to be doing instead of talking?”
“Oh some stupid exercise where you do tableaus and its just stupid so lets not waste our time talking about it.”
“Fair enough.”
“So which class are you in?” You asked, slumping onto the floor, laying on your back.
“Yours.” She said quietly.
“Oh.” Stupid! You didn’t notice she was in your class.
“I sit in the same row as you but on the other side of the class.”
“Oh cool…”
“Yep… Anyways you wanna eat lunch with me?”
“Oh yeah sure sounds good.”
“Yeah I’m sure my friends Rachel and Stephanie would love to meet you.”
You smiled and nodded but couldn’t help feeling an uneasiness.. You were a bit shy and nervous to meet Jamie’s friends.
You watched as Ms Banks entered the hall.
“Come in everybody, were moving onto the next activity.”
You raised you eyebrow in confusion as you turned to Jamie.
“Already? We’ve been working for like 5 minutes and were already moving on?”
“Boy do you have a lot to learn. That’s considered a warm up and well… She changes her mind a lot.” Jamie smiled.
“I see..”
You and Jamie got up and started to walk towards the class. You could hear Ryan and his friend following close behind.
“Any idea what this activity is about?”
“Well I have one guess… Skits.”
“What?”
“If I’m right and we play Skits… She’s gonna split us up and choose a topic and we have to act it out, on the spot.”
“That doesn’t sound fun.”
“Its not… Unless you’re in Ryan’s group. They act like idiots and I swear it’s the funniest thing ever.”
“Interesting… I look forward to this possibility of watching boys act like idiots… As if they weren’t already.”
Jamie laughed and it came easily too as your laughter filled the halls. You entered the class and people were sitting down on the floor. You, Jamie, Ryan and his friend were the last to enter the room.
“Okay who’s ready for some Skits!”
Most of the students groaned at the announcement.
“Oh come on guys it’ll be fun! Here lemme pick a group to go first.”
Ms Banks scanned the crowd of Students.
“Ryan… Jamie,”
Jamie smiled at me.
“Hope you have a fun time.” You whispered.
“________”
“It’s a fun time if I’m with you.” Jamie whispered back.
You smiled back at the girl and smoothed your hair back, tying it with an elastic.
“Will.”
Just like that Ms Banks was beckoning you Jamie, Ryan and Will up to the front of the class. Will was the guy who was with Ryan earlier. You stood anxiously at the front, waiting for her to tell you what the scenario was. You watched as she walked over to her desk and grabbed a hat. She shoved her hand in and rummaged around for a moment before pulling out a white slip of paper.
“Trip to the hospital.”
You looked to Ryan and he grinned.
“Oh god Ryan what do you have planned.” Jamie laughed.
“You’ll see.” He grinned.
The students were talking so it took a moment for Ms banks to quiet them down. Once they were quiet she told you guys to start.
Ryan erupted into a scream.
You looked horrified as he crumpled to the ground. It sounded as if he was in real pain.
“Sir! Sir what’s wrong?” Jamie yelled, rushing to Ryan’s side.
“I’m experiencing terrible pain.” He gasped.
“Requesting backup!” Jamie yelled, giving you a look.
You nodded and rushed over.
“________ is here to calm you down.”
“I can’t calm down when I feel like I’m being stabbed!”
You took his hand and held it to your chest.
“Sir… Focus on my heartbeat.”
“I… Can’t.” he gasped.
You watched as Jamie pretended to strap him onto a board.
“HOLY MOTHER OF GOD!” Screamed Will.
“Sir be brave. I’ll be back soon.” You said, rushing to Will.
“Sir what’s wrong?” You asked.
“I seem to have fallen… On my leg.” He gasped.
“Sir it’s going to be all right!”
“Its hard to believe that when I’m in so much pain!”
“Sir it hurts… But it’s going to be okay… now I’m going to try and transport you to the ambulance.” You said in a calm voice.
You pretended to strap him to a board.
“Jamie! I need some help transporting this Patient!”
“Okay! I’m coming!” she called back and rushed over.
“Quick I can’t let the other patient be alone for too long.” Jamie said, pretending to hoist will up.
Will scooted backwards on his butt until he was next to Ryan.
“Will? My high school sweet heart?”
“Ryan! My god you look good!” Will exclaimed.
“Well good for being in pain I guess.” Ryan smirked.
“Umm…” Jamie began but was quickly cut off.
“Ryan… Seeing you has made me overjoyed… My past 2 marriages have been failures… All I ever wanted was you… Will you be with me?”
“Yes Will I’d love to!” Ryan exclaimed.
“Well that escalated quickly.” Jamie sighed.
Ryan and Will hugged and then the mini play was over. People were laughing hard although you didn’t find it that funny.
“Well that certainly was entertaining.” Ms Banks laughed.
“That was stupid.” You mumbled.
Jamie nodded.
“Next up is…”
